Manfred Hauke wurde am 28. April 1956 in Hannover geboren. Seine Kindheit und Jugend verbrachte er in Paderborn (Westfalen). Das Studium der Philosophie und Theologie in Paderborn und München wurde 1981 abgeschlossen mit dem Doktortitel in Theologie (bei Prof. Dr. Leo Scheffczyk, der im Jahr 2001 wegen seiner wissenschaftlichen Verdienste die Kardinalswürde empfing). Nach der Priesterweihe 1983 folgten vier Jahre im seelsorglichen Dienst als Vikar im Ruhrgebiet (Dortmund, Hagen). 1987 wurde die wissenschaftliche Laufbahn fortgesetzt an der Universität Augsburg als Assistent von Professor Dr. Anton Ziegenaus. 1991 Habilitation (Dr. theol. habil.). 1993 erfolgte die Berufung an die Theologische Fakultät von Lugano als Professor für Dogmatik. 2001 kam die Lehrtätigkeit für Patrologie hinzu, und innerhalb der Dogmatik liegt derzeit ein besonderer Akzent auf der Mariologie. Die wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen widmen sich dem Gesamtbereich der Dogmatik. Monographien wurden veröffentlicht u. a. zum Priestertum der Frau (Doktorarbeit), zur griechischen Erbsündenlehre (Habilitation), zur Firmung, zur Feministischen Theologie, zur Theologie von Leo Kardinal Scheffczyk sowie zu den mariologischen Initiativen von Kardinal Mercier (vgl. unten). Nebenbei übernimmt Manfred Hauke auch pastorale Aufgaben und ist Studienpräfekt im Luganer Priesterseminar San Carlo. Seit 1992 ist er Mitglied der "Pontificia Academia Mariana Internationalis" (PAMI) und seit 2005 Vorsitzender der "Deutschen Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Mariologie". Er ist Herausgeber der wissenschaftlichen Buchreihe "Collana di Mariologia" (seit 2002). Als Mitherausgeber ist er verantwortlich für die Studienreihe "Quaestiones thomisticae" (seit 2007) sowie die Zeitschriften "Sedes Sapientiae. Mariologisches Jahrbuch" (seit 2004) und "Forum Katholische Theologie" (seit 2007). Seit 1996 gehört er zum Redaktionskomitee der "Rivista teologica di Lugano" und seit 2007 der "Ephemerides Liturgicae".

Manfred Hauke was born in 1956 at Hannover (Germany). He spent his youth at Paderborn (Westfalia, Western Germany). His studies in philosophy and theology (1975-1981) finished with the doctorate in theology (directed by Leo Scheffczyk whom Pope John Paul II in 2001 nominated Cardinal for his scientific merits). The ordination to the priesthood (1983) was followed by four years of pastoral practise as a chaplain in the industrial area (Dortmund, Hagen). 1987 Hauke became assistant of Anton Ziegenaus, at the University of Augsburg (Bavaria), where he prepared his habilitation in dogmatic theology (1991). In 1993 he was called to the Theological Faculty of Lugano as professor for dogmatic theology. In 2001 he assumed also the lessons of patrology, whereas in dogmatics there is some accent on mariology. His scientific publications regard the whole area of dogmatic theology. He published monographies e. g. about the Priesthood of Women (doctorate), the doctrine of original sin in the Greek Fathers (habilitation), the Confirmation, the Feminist Theology, the theology of Cardinal Leo Scheffczyk and the mariological initiatives of Cardinal Mercier (see below). He also does some pastoral work and is prefect of studies in the diocesan seminary San Carlo of Lugano. Since 1992 he is member of the "Pontificia Academia Mariana Internationalis" (PAMI) and since 2005 president of the German Society for Mariology ("Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Mariologie", DAM). He is the editor of the scientific book series "Collana di Mariologia" (since 2002). His responsibility as coeditor regards the series "Quaestiones thomisticae" (since 2007), but also the reviews "Sedes Sapientiae. Mariologisches Jahrbuch" (since 2004) and "Forum Katholische Theologie" (since 2007). Since 1996, he is member of the editorial committee of the "Rivista teologica di Lugano" and since 2007 of the "Ephemerides Liturgicae".

Manfred Hauke è nato nel 1956 a Hannover (Germania) e ha passato la sua gioventù a Paderborn (Westfalia, Germania occidentale). I suoi studi di filosofia e teologia (1975-1981) furono conclusi con il dottorato in teologia (diretto da Leo Scheffczyk il quale nel 2001 ricevette la porpora cardinalizia per i suoi meriti scientifici). L'ordinazione sacerdotale a Paderborn, nel 1983, fu seguita da quattro anni di lavoro pastorale come vicario nell'area industriale (Dortmund, Hagen). Nel 1987 Hauke divenne assistente di Anton Ziegenaus all'Università di Augsburg (Baviera) dove conseguì la sua abilitazione in teologia dogmatica (1991). Nel 1993 arrivò la nomina come professore di dogmatica alla Facoltà di Teologia a Lugano. In seguito (2001) si aggiunse l'insegnamento della patrologia, mentre nella dogmatica viene posto adesso un accento sulla mariologia. Le sue pubblicazioni scientifiche riguardano l'intero ambito della dogmatica. Egli ha pubblicato tra l'altro delle monografie sul sacerdozio femminile (dottorato), sulla dottrina del peccato originale nei Padri greci (abilitazione), sulla Cresima, sulla teologia femminista, sulla teologia del Cardinale Leo Scheffczyk e sulle iniziative mariologiche del Cardinale Mercier (vedi sotto). Si occupa anche di qualche lavoro pastorale e assume il compito del Prefetto degli Studi presso il Seminario diocesano San Carlo, di Lugano. Dal 1992 egli è membro della "Pontificia Academia Mariana Internationalis" (PAMI) e dal 2005 presidente della Società Mariologica Tedesca ("Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Mariologie", DAM). È responsabile della "Collana di Mariologia", fondata nel 2002. Una responsabilità come coeditore riguarda le riviste "Sedes Sapientiae. Mariologisches Jahrbuch" (dal 2004) e "Forum Katholische Theologie" (dal 2007) oltre che della serie "Quaestiones thomisticae" (dal 2007). Dal 1996, è membro del comitato di redazione della "Rivista teologica di Lugano" e dal 2007 delle "Ephemerides Liturgicae".
